Today marks my six-month anniversary at Coalmarch Productions — I started as the Raleigh web design and marketing agency‘s Director of Client Services on September 7, 2010. It’s been busy, fun, and productive… and that’s just my first half-year at the ad agency.

I’ve already written articles with advice on how to find a job. But I want to take a moment now to specifically thank 16 of the people who helped me get where I am today:

  1. Phil Buckley, for organizing the first Raleigh Media Leaders event and providing great advice.
  2. Allison Najman, for being the first person I met “IRL” from Twitter.
  3. Janet Kennedy, for introducing me to TIMA and thus Coalmarch Productions, and for serving as my blog’s first interviewee.
  4. Greg Ng, for introducing the “two DMs for each public tweet” Twitter concept, about how social media is ultimately about building one-on-one relationships.
  5. Darrell Gurney, for giving me a framework and keeping me on track.
  6. Beck Tench, for introducing the “stock and flow” concept that convinced me to start blogging.
  7. Cord Silverstein, for helping me map out how I’d best fit into a marketing agency.
  8. Susan Amey, for introducing me to Triangle AMA.
  9. Brian McDonald, for explaining the nuances of the Triangle marketing community.
  10. Jay Dolan, for taking the time to point out several important blog improvements.
  11. Patrick O’Neil, for introducing me to Redeemio.
  12. Gerry Lipscomb, for lending me an office and a great view.
  13. Alison Green, for being a timely sounding board, and for writing the must-read AskAManager.com blog.
  14. Jake St. Peter, Jason Stanley, and Thomas Ingham, for hiring me at Coalmarch.
  15. Several other people… for not hiring me before.

And thanks to you for reading my marketing blog over the past year — including this article, which also happens to be my 100th post.

By the way, is there someone you’ve been meaning to thank for a while? Stop procrastinating — take 10 minutes and write them a note or an email, right now.

  1. Alison Green, for being a timely sounding board, and for writing my favorite management blog.
